Born of the originally peaceful Baltic tribes, Lithuania took up the mantle of warrior-hood as a child in order to defend his people and their ways. Over time through militaristic but also diplomatic annexation of Baltic and Slavic lands, he became the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and eventually the largest state in Europe. Joining forces with Poland for help in protecting this land, they expanded even further as the Polish-Lithuanian Common Wealth. Russia, Prussia and Austria eventually took them down, and Toris went to work as a Russian and later (after a brief period of independence) Soviet territory. He has nearly disappeared on more than one occasion, but the resilience and stubborn spirit of his people always manages to keep him alive.

He's passive by nature, with an underlying spirit of fire that comes when times are bleakest or there is something that needs to be defended. He has been the focus of bullying even before living with Russia, and must have picked up the introverted behavior sometime near the end of the Common Wealth. His hard working nature makes him a really good underling. He rarely complains (outwardly) but is a worrier in the worst way; he has depressed himself to the point of physical illness on more than one occasion. Lithuania has a tendency to put others before himself and holds most of his own problems inside, but it may be because of this that he finds the means to be so patient. Awkward with and cautious of strangers, he generally welcomes them into his heart once he gets to know them better.
